Seminars

In our seminars we combine the education of theoretical knowledge and practical skills. We continuously up-date our seminars according to the latest scientific advances to provide an education that prepares for the challenges of tomorrow.

Bachelor Thesis Module

The Bachelor Thesis Module aims at providing students with theoretical and practical knowledge on doing research and working scientifically.

Teaching / Research Projects

Teaching / research projects are seminars over a period of two or three semesters. The students develop a research question, conduct a study to empirically investigate the research question and publish their findings in a scientific forum.

Practitioner Seminars

In addition to the regular seminars our department offers various practitioner seminars. These seminares are held by practitioners offering our students an excellent opportunity to gain insights about applied psychology and to link theory and practice in their education.

Scientist-Practitioner Colloquium

The scientist-practitioner colloquium is a series of lectures on scientific and applied topics in the field of Work- and Organizational Psychology. The colloquium is a joint program of the universities of Giessen, Frankfurt, and Mainz.

Teaching Evaluations

We continuously evaluate our lectures and seminars using a scientifically developed questionnaire for the evaluations (cf. Diehl & Staufenbiel, 1997). The teaching evaluations are based on all participants of a lecture or seminar and provide valuable feedback for our staff to continuously improve our teaching.

Literature For Exams

The base for the exams are the topics of the two lectures on work- and organizational psychology and, additionally, the following literature. The exam consists of three parts: an elaborated topic, work psychology and organizational psychology. The students choose their own elaborated topic in addition to the common literatur.

NEW APPOINTMENT

Prof. Frese has left University of Giessen to work at University of Lueneburg and National University of Singapore.
